Same with my cat.

Is there any reasoning behind this, or is that all just a myth? I've been pretty curious about it lately.

Thanks! :)

The eye ball remains the same. What gives our eyes that almond shape is how our eye lids are covering some of our eye. people with "bigger eyes" have less of their eye ball covered by eyelids, or the eye brow bone, or by the fat around the eyes.

As you grow, your bone structure changes, as well, the amount of fat you carry makes a difference in how large your eyes look. Many people can put on quite a bit of fat on their faces (RoseAnne Barr is someone like this). Also, baby fat on your face does disappear as you grow up generally.

It's not the eyes that are growing, it's the skin/bones/fat that are making the difference.
