be careful not to practice the way you would for a math test or a vocab test. practice but also experiment.
what makes it hard to draw something in the likeness of "it" is that we have a ready made image of "it" in our heads and when we draw we are drawing from our head and not from what we see.
TRY THIS: print a picture of your average celebrity, your mother, uncle, whomever, and blow it up in size. cut out one corner of the image and try drawing it now. it should be easier. you are breaking up the concept of the "face" to just a bunch of lines and shapes that your brain doesn't recognize to be any specific thing.

The most prominent features of the person being drawn are what you should pay most attention to. RELAX!

to start RELAX AND HAVE FUN!

now the following is a step by step prosidure

1) first take a of peice of tracing paper.
2) tape it to the picture of the person u want to draw.
3) draw a grid on the tracing paper taped to the picture.
-how ever many squares there are going across is the same amount that should go across the grid you draw on the on your paper.
-same goes for however many squares are going up and down.
4) starting with any square of your choice, draw the lines in the square in your picture as u see them in that square on to the corrasponding square on your paper.
5) upon finishing that first square, do the same thing you did to it, to the ones next to it, till u have the picture completed.

~note~ when putting the grid on your paper, draw it as lightly as possible.
~note~ practice this prosidure as much as possible. soon enough you'll be able to draw the people without drawing the grid.
