Question:I found a painting in my basement that my aunt says I should look up in case it's worth anything. I couldn't find anything, but maybe you could help me out? On the back it says T. Eaton Co. and the number V2668. The signature on the painting is Wells. The painting is of a house. Thanks.

I would recommend you research the name by searching the internet, or looking at old painting catalogues.

You may also want to call you local art gallery or art appraiser to discuss other avenues of research, or if they would be willing to provide an appraisal.

Sounds intriguing. Go find someone who is familiar with the Eaton's history and see if they can help or direct you to some help.
Another idea would be to go to the public relations dept of the Eaton's centre on Younge street and see if they could direct you to some archival information.
