A standard CD will do. Not all photo kiosks will read all DVD media so you may have problems using a DVD. Also, you may not have a DVD burner on your computer, but in most likelihood you have a CD burner. Nothing special about the CD. I do not recommend you use a CD-R. They do not have as good long term stability as a standard CD.

There are what is called Archival Gold CDs that are supposed to have much greater life expectancy, but they are VERY expensive.

You should NOT be using your computer to store all your photos. That is just an accident waiting to happen. When your hard drive crashes or becomes corrupt for some reason... all your photos will be gone. Get them OFF your computer and onto a CD or even an external hard drive unit.

Instead of dealing with Wal Mart and the crowds and hassle, you can very easily and economically print your own 4 x 6 photos. Epson makes the Picture Mate series of printers that do a great job and with lots more convenience. If you have a LOT of photos, yes, for now you would be better off to have them printed by an outside source, but in the future you may very well want to consider using the little Epson printers.

Here is the company link. You can buy the printers just about anywhere, or order from places like Amazon or B-H.

You can burn them to a cd-r or a better solution just for printing may be use an SD card or flash (thumb) drive.

A CD or DVD will do. Depending on how many pictures you have and how large the files are you may need a bunch of them. You could also use a memory card if your computer has a slot for them.
A USB thumb drive will work as well.
