How to take a really flattering picture for Myspace?

Question:I'm not very photogenic and hate taking pictures.
I just want to take one really flattering picture for Myspace to post as my display picture.
The best camera I have to work with is a 3.2 megapixel.

*If anyone can give tips on how to take a photo that looks like its good enough to give to be a models test shoot - would be much appreciated*

You want natural light.
So go outside, stand by a big window, etc. Don't use flash. The lighting is most flattering and a lot less harsh than using a flash.

Stay away from mirror poses. Stay away from 'bird's eye view' photos since they make your head look disgustingly huge. And it's a very childish pose to have.

You should try using a tripod or just placing the camera a little bit away from you on a timer, and taking photos of yourself.
Or do the usual arm-length photos, keeping the camera either straight on or just very slightly above your eye level to bring out your cheekbones. Experiment with different clothing, poses, settings, makeup, hair styles, etc etc. Have fun with it!

I would go somewhere where the light fantastic so yiu dont see any bags (if you have them lol)

and then i would also put a flash on......

Try different positions like to the side slightly (hardly any front on pics look good)

Do summin nice with your hair etc.... and just have fun

almost every one looks good when you position the camera above your head looking down on you. so maybe try that.

Ahh, I'm so glad you're not taking one of those stupid mirror pictures. I can't stand those. Remember that you become WAY more attractive if you have a sweet personality and show this through your photo. Maybe try having a friend take photos of you outside (natural light is flattering) and wear clothes that make you feel beautiful and confident.

If you want to be unique, you could look at the profile photos people have on myspace (you know, the REALLY heavily edited mirror shots with strange facial expressions) and resolve to do the exact opposite.

1. Have someone else take the photo of you.
2. Don't act or try to look cute or stupid--because it will look stupid.
3. In the shade or cloudy day is best.
4. Try not to use a flash--go outside.
5. And please, don't take a photo of yourself in a mirror. (see number 1).

Well it seems that most kids these days like taking their picture in the mirror, so why don't you try that.

lets see..maybe a mirror pic everyone has one and i bet it will look nice
