What's the easiest way to make a nice photo slideshow with a song on a DVD?

Question:I have a mac....so i have all the iDvd and imovie programs....just curious how easy it is and how you do it....I want to start making DVD slideshows for my clients.

You have a Mac, it is easy to do. There are easy to do instructions on the Apple website. I had a couple of my high school girl students do slideshows of photos of themselves growing up from little babies to young adults. They synched them to music, put them on DVDs and gave them to their moms for Mothers Day. They told me their moms were sobbing they were so touched.

You can make great slide shows in iphoto and then upload them to youtube or host them on your web site. This is a sample of one that I just did for my high school senior clients.

There are several ways, depending on what version of iPhoto, iMovie, etc. you're using. The newer versions are harder for me than the old ones (simply because I've been doing it so long the old way, it's hard to change)

Use the help files. They'll pretty much talk you through the process.

For max control, of timing, fades, music editing, etc. I'd use the older version of iMovie and import the slides into it from iPhoto. And, of course, import whatever music you want to use from your iTunes library.

But my real favorite way to do this kind of project is a pgm. called "Photo to Movie" from lqgraphics.com. Not sure what it costs these days, but it's great, because you can import images into it, pan and zoom within an image, use various transitions and add, music. Then burn it to DVD using iDVD.
