Question:I cannot do depth and shadowing for the life of me. Otherwise I am decent at drawing but as we all know....shading and depth are pretty important. So the question.... How, in laymans terms, do you do it? Give me some tips or something please. Thanks in advance!

My one art teacher always said in nature depth gets lighter whereas closeness has detail. Try putting a ball in front of you and light from one side only. The shadow will be evident. Draw without your page being lit. Repeat over and over until you are happy with your results. Don't add color until you master black and white. Drawing isn't natural, it is practice as in any achievement.

i know shadowing is hard but all u need is like some rolled up paper and smear in places you shadowed and if you dont know where to shadow usally do it in creases of your drawings ;)
