Position:Home>Visual Arts> I am visiting santa pod drag strip in a few months time and I want to use my 35m

Question:so what would be the best speed film to be using to get some pics along the drag strip of the cars racing I am fairly new to using this camera as it has been in the cupboard for a while as I now use my digital camera as it is a lot easier to put in my fishing box as the 35mm is a bit bulky I have enough stuff to drag along with me on a fishing trip ! So any help would be great in simple terms please as I am a bit dense about this sort of thing the camera has a multi shot sports action mode if that helps with a answer hope someone can help ?

To stop motion you'll need about 1/500 shutter speed.

Slow it down a bit to get sharp cars + wheelspin.

On a sunny day ISO100 will do fine.

Cloudy, switch to 400.

Here's a classic burnout I dug out of my archives.

If shooting during the day any colour film that is your favorite should be fine. You will need to be shooting in the 1/500th to 1/1000th second most of the time, so you will have to pick an ISO film that will allow you to shoot at around f/8 or so.

You will need at least a lens that will reach out to 200mm if you are shooting from the stands.

I use a 24-85mm f/2.8, but I am either on the track or at the barriers.

Interesting shots to get are when the cars are burning out and jumping off the line. If you have a nice wide angle lens you can shoot some of the cars in the "pits"

Just use your cameras meter to determine the correct exposure.

sunny day iso100, overcast try a 400 - you are asking re film speed?
