i'm left handed and i DEFS do this all the time, either moving around the paper or bending my arm in all kinds of wierd ways to be able to draw what i want.

this usually happens when i'm drawing curved lines, or shading.

I'm ambidextrous and I do it too!

I'm a righty but I still rotate the paper sometimes.

Here's a trick I learned in art class: Tape a piece of tissue paper to the back edge of your hand; you won't smear your artwork this way.

And to answer your question, no, I don't "rotate" the paper to accommodate my drawing. I might shift it a little for ease of reach, but not to get a line straight or whatever.

Don't be too critical...just like everything else in life, art should be you doing what feels good. Have fun with it, and don't get stressed out over technicalities.

As a left hander I turn the paper a lot too.

I also smear things when I write normally.

yes, that happens to me all the time and i am left handed.
