Visual Communications same as Graphic Design?

Question:The Univ I'm currently attending has a Visual Communications program. Is this the same as Graphic Design?

If they differ, how? Which is better?

Theoretically I would consider them to be same. But surely in your university they see difference, so find the study program and decide what attracts you more.

visual communications will most prob include things like screen design, web design, animation, film etc.
Graphic Design courses tend to be more focused on classical design elements such as layout, form, typefaces etc.
Talk to a teacher from the vis com course and ask what they think. Good luck!
