Go down to the bookstore and find a book called the Photographers Market. There's a new version every year, at lists 8,000 different magazines, books, and companies that buy photos. It also lists who you should submit them to(the name), the format in which you should submit them, where you should send them... etc. (You don't even have to buy the book. you can just write down the info.)
If you're looking for places to submit without being paid, just go ahead and submit it to whoever you can think of, and be sure to mention that all you want is a credit line. Should be plenty of interested responses.

A lot of times you can contact the magazine directly, and sometimes any of them will let you.
