Thirteen...try writing an actual sentence with correct spelling. If you are in photography for the money, then you've chosen the wrong field. Your career choice should be based on what makes you happy.

It comes down to this; if you're well connected and take good photos then you will make money. If you take bad photos you will not earn money.

"Selling stuff to magazines" is pretty vague. Magazine work is either fashion or advertising (or food or catalog stuff...) both of which could involve "taking pictures of people in their underwear".

By director, I'm assuming you mean a motion picture director? That's a hard field to break into. Pay may not be in the big bucks like you imagine...

Ask yourself this; what do you spend the most time doing? What makes you happy? Ignore money for a moment and just think. You could have a very high paying job and hate it because its not what you like to do.

The good ones are well paid. The bad ones are not. In that, they are like baseball players, singers and actors.

First, please learn how to form a cohesive sentence with periods and such. It will help you in life.
Secondly, It doesn't matter whether you are a good or bad photographer-obviously, just look around the web. However, big money is made when you either work for yourself with big name clientele, (and that takes awhile), or working for a large corporation.
While photography will not make you rich, (except for the chosen few - i.e. Annie Liebowitz, etc.), the whole reason to get into photography is the art of it. The expression you bestow on the viewer.

If you are looking to be rich, may I suggest being a doctor, or working for a large law firm.

if you want to be rich and sucessful i do not suggest photography. it takes to long to get to the point where people are willing to pay you well. if you want to make good money be a doctor or get into law....but if you really enjoy photography you can do that on the side! my aunt is now 58 and just now getting paid well for weddings...shes a GREAT photographer too, lucky she has a husband that can support the both of them!

Good ones with good relationship and business skills do well to exceptionally well (like said above), bad ones, well say no more.

I freelance and the income is up and down. I have a regular job too. However, when I do photography work it is very well paid if figuring on an hourly rate. But the income is inconsistent, for portrait sessions there are no shows, weddings get canceled or postponed. Stock sales are also inconsistent also. But pays well when it happens. You need to have excellent business as well as photographic skills. I have seen many excellent photographers go under and mediocre or even poor photographers make it big and the difference is business skills.
