Torn canvas...how do you repair?

Question:I painted a pretty nice painting on canvas, then my friend's boyfriend dropped a drum on it and it tore a little. Methods to fix it?

Get a piece of canvas a little larger than the cut area. Glue the canvas to the back of the painting canvas--carefully aligning the painting. Then (when it dries) you can touch up the torn area if need be.
I do oil and acrylic and have used this technique to repair my paintings.
