Position:Home>Visual Arts> Something to paint?

Question:I've had this HUGE canvas bored for months but I have no idea what to do on it. My painting skills are not the best in the world because my skills are more in the sketching department. I had a few ideas of maybe painting all the disney characters (well a lot of them) but I'm not so sure. Has anyone got any ideas or links to art that I could paint - simple yet effective or that look great.

As many as possible would be great!

You could draw a battle between Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks characters.

Or you could draw Disney characters and draw what they would look like in real life. For example, Nemo swiming with an actual clown fish or Bambie with a baby deer. That would be cool too.

what do you enjoy painting?
if you like to paint more realistic things, like landscapes or seascapes, go to flikr.com(i think thats the name) and browse the pictrues there. there are some really good photography there. that will give you inspiration and ideas on what you can draw and then paint.

if your more on the abstract side of things, take your sketchbook and sketch sketch sketch. when you have what you like, transfer that sketch to your canvas and PAINT! :]

do a self portrait with a cartoony feel.

Since it is huge, try painting a block of homes in your neighborhood or any place in town that you think is interesting. Older row homes or businesses make interesting subjects. Sketch them in first and just paint. Disney characters are trade marked and you could get into trouble if you ever wanted to enter them in any competition.
