I am going to be entering this into a local photo contest?

(I took the photo under a flowery patterned lamp, with a glass tube "thing" and lined the camera and tube up with the light.)

I would give the image more contrast. I love the tones. Just try and see how you like it after pushing the contrast. If you have not done it already also give it an unsharp mask.

i think it sucks. it appears to be simply a close up of a lamp. try a different subject

its a nice pic kinda dull though

it isn't very interesting to the eye. Try either editing the colors, or taking a different photo. Also try using a better camera.

Good. When i first saw it and wanted to comment on it i couldn't get any thoughts through my head. It's kinda blank. The judges shouldn't feel the same too. Maybe you could make it more expressive. Anyway all the best. If this is helpful to you, feel free to mail me.

1) It needs more depth of field.

2) To me, abstract means reflections in water that is rippling or the patterns found in a weathered tree stump or peeling paint or rusted metal or charred wood or shadows from a bench or a double exposure.
