Position:Home>Visual Arts> Help with picture for easter!!!?

Question:Ok I'm going to a photography place (Picture People) for my children's easter picture. Last time I went they didn't really use any props and the experience all around was crappy. This time I plan on bringing stuff prop wise. My son has a darker gray suit and daughter has a white dress with accent purple flowers and light green also. Any ideas on what to bring to make it a better photo or any ideas at all....!!!!

Cookie-cutter portrait studios are not known for their great images. So likely you will get about the same thing as before, except with a stuffed bunny, or whatever you are planning to bring. With good lighting (outdoors) and a bit of technique you can take them yourself.

A lot depends on where you live. If you still have snow three feet deep, then there's not much use in trying to capture spring pictures on your own. But if your area is "springing" now, you might think about doing them yourself.

Scout locations in your area, perhaps in your own yard or at a park, or some location in town, a garden or town square. Dress the kids, take their baskets and eggs and go a couple of hours before sunset. Take lots. Use your flash (try some minus flash compensation) for some, and do some without. Take some candid and some posed. Some closeup, and some farther away. I'll bet you will come away with at least a few that your are happy with. If not, oh well, there's always Picture People. And you can take their baskets, eggs, bunnies etc there . I would take the previous shots that you were unhappy about, and ask them if they can try something different. Perhaps you will get a different photographer who is willing to try. Good luck, hope you get some great pictures which ever you decide to do!

Well, I suggest you go to another photograher. Why go back to the same place if you did not like it before, and you have to bring things to try to make the photo yourself???

Sounds like you are having to do the photographer's job.

I agree with Steve. You might as well take the pictures with your digital and get prints made at Wal Mart.
