Guernica depicts the horror of the bombing of the village in 1937 by the German Condor Legion. Basic practice and training for the Luftwaffe for things to come -- WWII. Guernica was Picasso's Protest.
Painted for the World's Fair.

Picasso's famous painting doesn't celebrate anything. It is a painting about the horrors, death and destruction of war.... specifically the fascist war in Spain.
