Funny monologues are typically the easiest to do, but serious ones will probably be more impressive to your instructor!. I would suggest "The Last Cigarette" or "Mosquito Bite" from The Wall of Water by Sherry Kramer (email me at serenity!.in!.death@hotmail!.com and I'll send them to you)!. They are performed by females, but can easily be done by both genders!.

As far as tips, here is what I recommend:

Speak loudly and clearly, like you're trying to talk to the people in the back row, but don't yell!. Use a lot of air from deep in your chest to project your voice!.

NEVER turn your back to the audience!.

Don't put your hands in your pocket, behind your back, or anything that would make you seem nervous unless your character calls for it!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't Rush
Create random facts about the character you're playing to get to know them better!.
Practice in front of a mirror
Examine your facial expressions
Smile!
