Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes!. If you look old enough or can play older!. When I direct I look for people who 'read' the age I am looking for, not necessarily their own age!. Some people look and sound a totaly different age on stage than they do in real life!. I played a 40-50 year old when I was 28 and a 50-55 year old when I was 38!. I have also played my own age and younger!. It's the magic of acting!Www@QuestionHome@Com You don't say how old you are and how old you're trying to play!. If you're eleven and want to play 27 that's gonna be quite a challenge to make it believable!. Not impossible mind you, but I wouldn't cast an 11 year old as someone in their twenties (in anything other than a high school play) there's just something sordid about it!. Now getting cast in a role of someone who is 75 and you're twenty is a little difficult but it's been done, it's a specialty for some great actors!. Walter Brennan was playing toothless old men in his twenties, Grandpa Jones (Grand Ol' Opry star) was Grandpa Jones when he was 21!. Even look at Brad Pitt in Benjamin Button!. It's a physical thing, for age I always found it has a lot to do with the knees, watch older people people at the mall, it's not the speed at which they do things, it how their knees work!. You just have to stay true to the character and build it with history otherwise you're just mimicking and parodying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yes There have been a number of actors/actresses which have made a good living playing older people!. One actor frequently was younger than those playing the part of his children!. He successfully played a man in his 70s for nearly 40 years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Height is irrelevant!. Plenty of short old people around!.
