Are acting schools a waste of time?

Question: Are acting schools a waste of time!?

I knew being in the entertainment business means having a large social network and being able to get out there but is attending an acting school or any theatre class a waste of time!? What about just getting out there and attending every audition possible!?
I know that you can't possibly learn anything if you don't go to a school, but I'm sure there are cases of people who have made it without lessons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah it's with luck and natural ability!. You can learn the craft but if you don't have any natural talent!.!.!. well, I take that back!. There are definitely people in Hollywood that definitely should not be there!. It's a lot of who you know!. Go to a 2 year college if you're impatient!. But it's VERY helpful if you take classes!. If you want to be a successful actor, you have to have a good resume, so experience is really important!. Even if you played a tree in a school play, any experience is good for acting in the future!. Acting classes really help you regain more of a natural feel for acting!. For example, say you're a girl and you have to play a guy in a musical; acting classes can help you BECOME your character!. Grab any opportunity to audition too!

You don't need lessons, but they help immensely!. You might think you're doing well but to have people who have been in the business help you - well, you're only helping yourself!. There are different methods and different styles for different mediums!.

yes, they teach you a lot and you have to know that there are MANY people out there in the acting career that you are competing with!. if you want to be a good actor you need experience to get an agent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
