For auditions you usually do need an agent!. This is because they represent you and negotiate prices for you!. To get an agent you can send in headshots with a resume attached to the back to the agents you would like to be represented by!. You can also take acting classes at an acting school!. Usually after a certain amount of classes the acting school offers a "showcase"!. This is where invited agents come and you audition for them!. If they like you then you can meet with them and wa la!
