Question: What can I do to give me the best chance at becoming an actress!?
I really want to go into acting when I leave school!. I've got one problem though!. I live in Cyprus, a country with little if any drama schools & no opportunities!. I go to a English school & I'm currently doing my IGCSEs!. I'm doing drama & other subjects which may be usefuI, & went to drama classes for 5 years where I used to live but I can't find a decent drama school to go to outside of school here!. What can I do to improve my chances of getting into showbiz in a place with little to offer!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sadly, where you live can really inhibit your chances!. I would suggest moving somewhere that has a good acting community (New York, LA, Chicago, London, etc)!. However, that can take time and money!. Until then, expose yourself to as much as possible!. Read plays!. Learn about acting styles!. Read books on technique, such as An Actor Prepares and Respect For Acting!. Watch films renown for their strong performances!. Learn monologues!. Try to find people with similar interests to talk with!. While nothing can take the place of experience, at the very least you can go into the real world with more knowledge on the subject than the average person!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
