Question: Acting Questions ! Help Please!!?
Can someone please give me examples of a short film!? I might go to an audition for one and I just want to know exactly what kind of film im auditioning for!.

And !.!.!.!. when a casting call says " to make an apt!.!.!." do you NEED an appointment to go to the casting call/audition or can you just go with out an appointment!? Because I e-mailed where they told me to but if I don't get an answer by the audition day should I go anyway !?

One more thing: Besides the look of the role and talent what do casting directors really like to see when people audition!?

Thank you very much :]Www@QuestionHome@Com

You do need an appointment if the casting call specifically mentions appointments, especially if you were emailed saying that you should (unless of course it says that walk-ons are welcome but even then its best to be as professional as possible, which means an appointment)!. However if you haven't heard back by the audition date it can't hurt to go to the audition anyways!. If you don't go you can't get cast! :)

Casting directors want to find actors that will not only fit the part, but will work at the part!. They want to see someone who is professional, will listen to them, will come prepared to *all* rehearsals with their lines memorized and initial interpretations prepared, and is respectful of the director, actor, and space!.

It can be hard to convey this in an audition, but it certainly helps to be on time to your appointment, wait for the director to be ready before beginning your audition, and stopping when they thank you!. (Actors who continue with their monologue or scene after the director as thanked them is a pet peeve of many castors!. "Thank you" is really code for "get out of here", which doesn't mean that they don't like you, just that they have seen enough to make their decision and now need to get on to the other auditions!.)

You could ask for a synopsis of the film you are auditioning for, or at least find out the title so you can read the script!. They might not give out this information if they want truly cold readings at the audition, but most directors will at least tell the actors what the film entails- if it requires nudity, kissing, etc!.

Hope this helped, and break a leg!Www@QuestionHome@Com
