choko is nearly right again!. going to college is no way to become an actor!. nor is going to acting school, to be an actor, you must act, if there is eveidence that you have ability, then maybe you should give it a try, while doing so you will need to support yourself in some way, as a waiter or something!. Then you have to be where the action is, not NY or LA necessarily, there are other places!. You can allways go to college, but you will not always be young and energetic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A BA in theater will in NO WAY help you to become a "famous actor"!. NOTHING can help you become a famous actor other than acting so much, so WELL, that people start to recognize you!. The only way to accomplish that, assuming you have the talent, is to study acting, and act!.

Additionally I would recommend working on your English writing skills!. At the moment, they're terrible and regardless of what degree you're aiming for, you're going to be have to improve your writing ability!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My sister has dual BA in Theater and Literature - she's currently working as an officer for a federal agency (kind of like a cop), nothing at all to do with acting - she did try to get started in theater, working in a costume shop and as a stage manager for a theme park and as an event coordinator for a hotel, all good gigs, but the pay and hours were lousy!.

It can't hurt to give it a try!. If you're willing to put in the time and effort and have a solid support system for those times of low to no pay, you could be fine!. Start working on finding equity jobs, you'll be able to pursue more opportunities once you have that!. :o)Www@QuestionHome@Com
