Question: What are some good foods to eat the day of an audition!?
I have an audition for my high school's production of Cinderella later this afternoon & I want to keep my voice clear and my throat from getting clogged up!. It's happened before, where I'm a bit raw and the notes don't sound nearly as good as they should!. I don't usually get nervous while auditioning, so I can't even blame any flat notes on that! x)

I know to drink tea and other warm liquids to keep your vocal chords loose, but is there any food that will make singing easier!? Or ones that will make it harder, so that I know to stay away from them today!?

I have trouble with the higher notes of the song we have to sing, Ten Minutes Ago, and would like to be in tip-top shape come audition time!. (:

Any other tips are always appreciated!. Thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stay far away from dairy!. (ex - ice cream, milk, etc!.) It will give you way too much phlegm!.

Loads of tea is a good idea!. also, I usually put honey in my tea as well as having it on toast or something!.

Spicy soup (or a regular soup with hot sauce added in) will clear out your nasal passages!. Plus, it's a hot liquid!. :)

Like the other person said, dairy will coat your vocal cords, making it harder to sing!. this includes milk, cheese, yogurt, and a variety of other things!. Thick liquids will not help either, like Fuse (a drink they sell in our school, not sure if you have heard of it)!. Mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard I am not too sure about, but I would avoid also!.

Keep hydrated though! Drink tons of water, and hot tea is great!

Best of luck on your audition!
