I am seventeen and a senior in high school!. Part of me, after graduating of course, wants to pack up all my things and move to LA and try to pursue and acting career!. I have very little experience!.
Life is short!. Is this worth a try or not!? I imagine it would be incredibly hard to make it big considering people move there by the thousands!. How hard would be to suceed and is it worth trying!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The likeliness of success are very slim but they are very slim for EVERYONE who moves to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career!. This doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a shot but I do believe you need to arm yourself with far more knowledge than you currently have about the business!. I'll start you off with one little tidbit!. Of the 140,000 some odd actors in SAG and another few thousand in AFTRA, the two major unions that cover all professional TV and film work, 98% of that membership earns less than $5,000 per calender year as an actor!. That means YOU WILL be working a day/night job for YEARS before you ever see a glimmer of hope supporting yourself as an actor!. Overnight success takes a minimum 10 years, the sooner you start your journey the better!. Www@QuestionHome@Com well i wish all luck to you but my honest opion is that you sould wait the chances of you just going to la is slim to none i would look for talent angenies and agents closer too you you dont want to spend all your time and MONEY and mess it up i would try to get my foot in the door first get more experience but if it is what you really want to do dont be asking questions to people you dont know just do the dame thing what do you have too lose good luck man and god blessWww@QuestionHome@Com i think you should listen to what you really want!. but remember a acting career doesn't go bang and you have a huge movie!. you'll have to start small and build up to big!.!. that takes years!.and its a lot of hard work!. so you should make sure you can do it before you go!.!. acting is a job tons of people want and if you don't have experience!. you probably wont succeed!. but, its your life your choice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Get some more experience first!. You need a thick skin, a big heart, a good deal of ambition and a LOT of patience!. (Oh, and a day job!.) Percentage-wise, at any one time, only about 5% of the Screen Actors Guild is working!.
