Question: Musical Theatre - Actresses and Actors hellppp!?
This year my school is doing High School Musical as our musical! I have been in both of my middle school productions but, im sure they are completely different from the high school's!. Auditions are coming up and i was wondering what kind of a song will impress the director for me to sing for my audition!? Do I do a song from High School Musical or stay away from the musical being done!? I really would love to be in this so please give some good advice!
Thank You!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tinkerbell is mostly right, except for one detail!. Take out the "never" and "don't" references!. There are directors, both in high school and in community theatre who actually WANT to hear how you sing the songs you will be singing if cast in the role you ask for (I don't understand it, but I've auditioned for them!.!.!.and since they're casting the show, I do things their way)!.
So find out what your director wants, then prepare something that fits that criteria, making sure that it is a song that showcases your vocal abilities tho their greatest advantage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For further reference, never sing a song from the show that you are auditioning for!. also, stay away from any pop songs or any songs you may hear on the radio!. Stick with songs from musicals or movie musicals!. Maybe you could sing a song from one of the shows you did in middle school! Break a leg on your audition!Www@QuestionHome@Com
