Question: I want to learn to play the piano, but my so called buddies say no guy in his right mind would want to do this!?

Screw 'em!. Learn Piano!. Chicks love it!. Learn some guitar too!. Your buddies won't think your "unmanly" or "gay" when you are impressing everyone with your mad skills!.

Obviously there are a lot more rewards than just picking up chicks!. People who play musical instruments tend to be more focused, better at math and more analytical!.

There is also an ineffable quality to playing and creating music, a satisfaction and fulfillment that only other musicians get!. I imagine it is no different that the fulfillment people get from painting, writing and having children!. It becomes so important that you cannot imagine a life without it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your "so called buddies" probably just don't want you getting more girls than them, or being more happy with the one you have now!. I've found that relationships are always much better when one of the people can play an instrument (other than the harmonica or the accordion!.)

It's a good skill to have at parties, and being good at reading music could open a whole new world of job opportunities, ecspecially when you're older, after he retired, my friends grandfather put his piano skills to use by taking up a job at a local restaraunt, with flexible hours, good pay, and a relaxed setting!.

When you have a family it's also fun for everyone to gather around their relative while he plays an instrument!. My family and I don't get along too well, but we love to sit around and watch my dad sing and play guitar, and most of us play instruments as well, so we learn together, and teach eachother!.

wel 1st of all they dont sound like very good friends, real friends would incorage you to do something if you like it and would support you!.
and playing the piano isnt bad for guys to do its not gay or anything iv got a male friend whos 19 and is learning to play the piano, the guys may not be too keen on you for doing it but that just shows their not good mates and you should probz look 4 some better ones, and the girls will most likely luv it, most girls luv a guy wiv lots of talent its sexy

Learn to play the piano, seriously!. Lots of people love to hear the piano being played, even though it is hardly expressed as such!. I would love to play myself, but my hands are simply too small!. I can do a few songs, I can read music (though it's been a while lol), and there are a handful of 2 handed songs I've been ever able to do (but forget now)!. I know of so many people who love the piano and would love it if their man would too, or even be interested!.

Mario may be low end for you, but seriously there are a lot of songs out there now that you can play on the piano, it all doesn't have to be 'classical' music!. Nothing unmanly about the piano (which I presume is the source of the complaint of your buds)!. the unmanliness is in the person, not the instrument!. It's your life, do what you want!. besides, learning piano is a good way to learn and understand music, and music is GREAT!. Wish I played better myself!. Assuming that your buddies might consider it a bit effeminate, you might offer the suggestion that hundreds of males, in the entertainment/music field play piano!. Your friends are stupid!. They may be laughing now, but when you're on stage winning a AMA they'll regret discouraging you!. I go to a performing arts high school and there are MANY MANY guys who play the piano and everyone thinks its cool not "gay" or laughable!. If you feel like piano is your calling then go for it and forget your stupid friends!. They don't deserve your friendship if they make fun of your dream!.
