Well, for me I would have to say it really depends on what kind of mood I am in that day!. For example, if I am angry then the best music is heavy metal, if I am in a bright, happy mood then anything fun, if I am sad or depressed then of course emo music and, if I am at a party (again depending on the people I am with and the type of mood I am in) either rap or some good head banging music!. So really your question is kind of bland it should be more of a narrow question if you are looking for a direct answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

um it's your personal preference, there's no way of really proving to you that one genre is better than or takes more talent than another!?!? thats the beauty of music, everyone respects and likes other different types of unique and talented music!. The bassoon is considered to be one of the hardest instruments to play, and takes an extreme amount of focus, dedication and motivation, and is featured primarily in classical music, which could be considered the hardest music to replicate or play!. But that doesn't mean classical is the best or even most talented genre, your question is just an opinion there's no right or wrong answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your question suggests we all might be of one mind, and even you must not believe that!? I hope!.

Beyond that, a "genre" isn't the talent, it's the people involved in it that create any like or dislike, and thankfully any of us who can, do make choices about what we enjoy!. Many of us in fact enjoy many genres, or very selectively; specific pieces in any genre!.

I don't think rock because it takes very little skill to produce the sound- as I have knowen from doing school music performances and so on!. Anyone can learn guitar in under 2 years and play the same old rock songs!.

I think the most TALENTED is Jazz, Swing, Funk or Ska!. These generes need huge amounts of talent throught the whole band, in rhythm, timing and general stye!. The generes are the hardest to reproduce the sound!. I can play most 'Rock' songs on bass, but struggle endlessly with ska and funk!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's Jazz!. It's a much more complex form of music structurally, so the musicians need to be more talented!. There is on the spot improvisation, chord substituitions, complex arrangements, etc!. The level of musicians capable of playing jazz always will be superior to rock musicians!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love rock too but after sometime my head aches!. I think the best is adult comtemporary, ballad and jazz!. I hate pop and rap!. There is nothing special about pop and rap is okay sometimes but not always!.

Alternative- Most of these so-called "Alternative" bands still follow the same old formula and add the title to insist they are unique and genuine, which makes the fans think they too are unique and genuine!. Real Alternative bands however, use different song formula's, risk their fame and fortune on unusual musical styles or combination and actually put much work into their work plus the same expectations as rocks bands are put on them as well, so they have already beaten the rock genre!.

Rap- Now most people are biased and don't take time to seek out good rap, but when you do find good rap!.!.!.*Compare the lyrics of any rap song of the same time limit to that of another genre and I promise you that it's instant you notice that rappers have to remember MUCH more lyrics than anyone else, that's not an opinion but it's fact! *2) Another thing is that the beats, and this is controversial to some, but they aren't just all mixed in a pile and then "Oh hey, let's just mess around and it'll sound good!.!." and Wa LA! #1 Hell No! With meaningful and enjoyable unique rap, they have piano's, drums, guitars and other instruments as well!.!.!.Now, they may not even play the instrument's themselves but they most likely write the lyric's, produce and directed the production of the entire album and they can't just go on stage and suck live, they have to be in great shape of some kind to rap all of there songs in at a concert daily and then not mess up one time!. Are they the best!? No, but they have advantages and are the same as rock!.

Metal- This could be the most talented, but no one is going to agree despite the fact I listen to all genre's and am quite experienced with them!. In metal, yes some of them growl, some sing, some use the Beauty and the Beast with opera like female voices blended with Death Growls, or one female singer who does the death growls herself!. Hell, this should be number one because: 1) It's the most divesre genre of all of them!. I came name bands of all races, genders, and cultures!.!.!.in fact I will-

*Ill Nino- Hispanic and fused Brazilian music with metal including have regular drums you beat with your hands with the Hispanic culture in mind

*Sevendust- Black lead singer who could be R&B if he wanted and has sung rock, metal and alternative

*Otep- Female led band (and she does both kinds of metal) She's an Women's right activist and has her own site that someone made after hearing the song "Perfectly Flawed" that is motivating women to be themselves and trying to redefine the image and idea of beauty and she has been against the Bush administration since he was elected in the first place, even made a song called "Warhead"

*Straight Line Stitch- Black/Female and she does both too

*Lacuna Coil- Italian Nu-metal Band, who have both male and female lead's but Christina Scabbia, the female, have posed for many magazine's being called one of the most attractive women in Metal!.!.!.She also is Gothic and openly to BOOT!

*SLOT- Russian Nu-metal band with both Male and Female front's

*Dir En Grey- Of Oriental Decent and have sung almost all genre's! They Can sing in English and Japanese, yet dress outrageously but because it's metal that's accepted *Soilwork- Swedish Metal and has uncles + nephews in the band *Sonic Syndicate- Has female guitarist who can sing very well and three brothers are also in the band together!.

I could go on & on but like it or not, accept or don't, either way metal is by far the most diverse and most experimental genre of them all and I have listened to all music types!.!.!.also, the women are quite accepted and dominating in the metal genre and THEY don't dress in skimpy outfits on stage, because people respect their talent!.!.Now I must admit though, alot of guys do sometimes say they are hot but they still respect the talent (or so I hope)

2) Metal has influences from ALL genre's including the popular and unpopular ones!. The band "Apocaplytica" just happens to play chello's, violin's and drums as both instrumental's and like an actual metal band to the point they were so good they have had singers from the Rock and Metal genre sing to those same instrumental's and are still considered one of the best metal bands to date!.!.!.

3) There are more sub-genre's in metal than any other genre! There's so many that you can't research them in a whole year! I'm serious, there's *Black Metal *Death Metal *Metalcore *Gothic *Emo *Screamo Metal *Nu-metal (some who are really rock) *Melodic Death Metal *Speed Metal *Power Metal!.!.!. Get where I'm going!? 0!.o

Now is metal the most popular!? No, and that's because it's the most underrated out of all genre's (even Rap)

I have honestly listened to all types of music and Rock certainly isn't the best but I also have to say that all of the Genre's are good and equal if you line them up but Rock and Rap are the least talented and Pop or R& B are second to Metal, Opera and Jazz because they usually are catchy and danceWww@QuestionHome@Com
