I have to read in front of my whole school in a few days!. Does anyone have any tips!? I talk really fast, by the way!. also, I'm 14 and my voice hasn't changed, but all my friends' have, so should I deepen my voice a little while reading to avoid humiliation!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Do not try to deepen your voice!.!.!."faking it" will only leave you open for embarrassment!.!.!. PRACTICE your speech!.!.!.a lot!.!.!.and in front of a mirror!.!.or video tape yourself (or at the least audio tape) or have a friend or parent tape you!.!.ask for feedback from whomever you get to watch and/or tape you!.!.teach yourself to slow down when speaking!.!.(I have the same problem as you!)!.!.!.take DEEP breaths!.!.!. I'm sure you'll do great!Www@QuestionHome@Com Don't talk really fast because they problaly won't understand a word you say!. I get nervous alot of times before getting on stage I sometimes talk really fast and quitely but no one understands what I say; I have gotten better!. Usually I think of my best friend before speaking and it calms my nerves alot but think of someone inportant or maybe have a good friend of yours sit in front so you can look at them!. Different people think differently and do things differently for nerves!. Usually thinking of others naked or in the underwear don't usually work!. I know it makes me want to laugh if I'm on stage and I think of that!. I can't make direct eye contact to certain people when I'm on stage!. Good luck Www@QuestionHome@Com Be brave!. Here's a saying picture the crowd in their underwear, it may sound silly but it works! also do not try to make your voice deeper it may be even MORE humiliating then your own voice!! Why!? Because your friends know your real voice!. Try talking a little slower, this helps me when I have to read in front of a big crowd, when you have some quiet time say your ABC's slowly, if you catch yourself going to fast, start over!. Choose one person and imagine that person is only present!.
