Question: The Mousetrap has now been running for 56 years- How much cheese is that!?
Playgoers won't say who did it- Is that because no-one has stayed to the end!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is about forty years since I saw The Mousetrap and, to be perfectly honest, it was rather dated and amateurish then!. If you like Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot on television then I suppose you will enjoy it!. The fact is the who-done-it is a victim of its own longevity!. Because it is the world's longest-running play people want to go and see it to find out why!.

As with her books, Miss Christie keeps you guessing right until the end, but she really was only a run-of-the-mill dramatist!. Nevertheless, her grandson, to whom she left the royalties for it, must be eternally grateful,Www@QuestionHome@Com

the reason is for playgoers not saying who did it is because they are asked not to spoil it for others at the end of the show, as it's a murder mystery and the author who wrote it was one of the greatest crime authors of all time agatha christie!. for a play in the west end to run that long is good and it's one of the plays i would like to see one day and I don't want an idiot to tell me how it ends like people some who like to ruin things and ending of books, films etc!. It has nothing to do with cheese!. My parents have seen it and they watched it all the way through and enjoyed themselves!. They haven't said a word about what happens or who did it and i'm happy they haven't!. A good idea is go and see it for yourselfWww@QuestionHome@Com

I saw it about 17 years ago and it looked very tired then!. The actors weren't really making an effort!. I think it only keeps going because of the tourists!. If it was put on as a new production today, I doubt it would last longer than a couple of months!. I guess it paid for itself years ago and gets enough money to pay the cast and crew each week!. Ironically my mother found an old newspaper in her loft with an article complaining about how long the show had been running and the fact that it was taking up a theatre that could be used for new productions!. The Mousetrap had only been running for 5 years!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well after a 56 year run, it's kind of become a part of the culture there, and it's a tradition to not give away the ending because it spoils the fun!.!.!. although I've heard that if you don't tip your cab driver, he'll ruin it for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In terms of cheese it's like a very sad runny Camembert that no-one wants but keeps hanging around!.

I saw it when i was eight years old and by the interval I'd guessed whodunit - it's that obvious!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As much as the moon holds that is a lot of cheese
