I've been acting for several years now and here is some of the best techniques for helping with the jitters for me:

1!. Breathing Techniques -
Breathing helps to calm you down and focus your mind!. Take a deep breath for as long as you can then release the air twice as slow as you breathed it in!. Do this for several times and you can feel the effects almost instantly

2!. Try humming a familiar tune-
Humming or singing something familiar to you can also calm you down and help you focus!. Even if the tune is as simple as the 'ABC song' it will help!.

3!. Try getting more in character!.
I found this one is the easiest and most helpful skill I have ever learned!. When you get into character to the point that it feels natural you tend to forget that there even is an audience and then you start to relax and actually have fun with the acting, cause 'an audience doesn't want to see a character that you can't see yourself' (My drama teacher was kind of a perfectionist)

I hope this helps and I know you can get over your stage fright =PWww@QuestionHome@Com

Just lose yourself in your character!. Learn all that you can about your character- their motivations, personality, what makes them happy/mad, their feelings, everything!. Relate yourself to your character!. Find things that you have in common, and play on those things!. Then you can forget about the audience and enjoy being another person!.

I think you should definitely be the character and forget about everybody there!. Focus on your characters' thoughts, feelings, and actions!. When you know the character well, it is easier for you to memorize your lines!. For example, if you wer a girl angry at her mom because her mom embarassed her, you would know how to act and what she would most likely be able to say!. And just remember, no one has the right to humiliate you if you mess up!. The theater is not about who looks good while they're acting!. Theater is about connecting an actor to the role they're playing!.

I hope I helped!. Good luck! ^^Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok!.!.
In my last musical i had a pretty important role that introduced everyone of the other characters in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!.!.
What i did to get over my stage fright which i definitely had when i tried out for the musical was to focus on a certain point on the wall at the back of the auditorium!.
Then you just focus on that point and pretend your lines are written on that wall!.!.
Then the rest comes naturally, you just say the lines like you practiced and sing the way i know i did in the shower and before i went to sleep and while doing chores and what not!.!.!.
Best Wishes!
Having fun is the most important thing when doing a production!.!.
you have worked hard for this and you should always have fun doing the actual Performance
GOOD LUCKWww@QuestionHome@Com

Don't look at them!. I did plays in high school, and I learned not to look at the audience!. If your role requires you to, don't focus on them!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
