Question: What can I do about this terrible actor!?
I'm in a scene with a guy who is pretty bad!. I'm not being harsh!. we've been working for two months and he's barely gotten better!. He's nice he's just not a good actor and he doesn't leave his shyness when he's acting!. He is supposed to kiss me but he doesn't know how and it looks silly!. He just touches his lip over my whole mouth and doesn't actually kiss me!. We're performing in a competition and I don't want to get placed really low!. What can I do to make it better!? Should I not say anything!? Would that make it worse!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

At this point you have nothing to lose so you should speak up and work with him!. Maybe he just doesn't know how to kiss or feels that he'd be going to far by kissing you as he'd kiss a girlfriend!. Communication is key, don't assume anything!. He may honestly not know how to communicate anything to you and for all you know he may think you're the terrible actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
In a professional scene class you would be told that it is up to you to supply what you need!. In other words, it doesn't matter how bad he is, you must treat him like he's the best!. Best to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
There's nothing you can do, except act the heck out of your own part!. I know it's hard when someone is so bad that they aren't listening or reacting to the moment, but if you're thinking about how much they're sucking then you're not doing so well yourself!. He could also be coming at the piece from a totally different angle than you are, so maybe try and go with the vibe he's giving off!. If he's playing it shy, then be the aggressor!. If that's still awkward then try playing it shy too!. A chaste kiss can be just as meaningful as a passionate one!. Next class really react to what he's doing, don't think about how it "should", but react to what it is!. The biggest mistake an actor can make is to "act" instead just be!.
