When writing a screenplay what are good techniques to stay focused on what you are writing all the way through!? what are good screenwriting books!? I need a easy to comprehend book which Helps "FINAL DRAFT" USERS!. The last version of it i have is Final Draft 7!. The Writers Journey "Mythic Structure for Writers" by Christopher Vogler is practically the writing bible that every hired freshman writer in Hollywood is handed when hired on a show or film!.

Otherwise visit Amazon to take your pick of books on writing screenplays!. My advice is remember you are NOT writing a novel!. You are writing a screenplay!. A screenplay is simply a blueprint or foundation for the VISUAL medium that is film!. As such your screenplay should MOVE!. If I can't tell where you're going in the first ten pages or if nothing has happened in the first ten pages then I am tossing it!. Do not put camera angles or direction in your screenplay, it will only highlight that you don't know anything about cameras, lenses and cinematography in general!. Do not place incessant direction for the actors, doing this simply highlights that you know nothing about character development in your writing itself!.

Lastly, if you have not done so already read a few dozen screenplays of successful films that have already been made so that you can get a grasp of the process of how the written word on the page gets translated by a crew of creative people to what you see on the screen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
