well your body is a means unto an end just like a comedian's jokes!. from an actor's perspective, they are apart of the package you are presenting!. even more so for a comedian, b/c you are really up there with nothing: you and your jokes!. so what you do with your body is apart of the story you're telling (even though you're not telling a story per say)!. take a look at other comedians!. steven wright has an infamous way of speaking, he absolutely known for it, but his posture is just as much a part of his act as his tone and pace!. dane cook uses his whole body in his stand up routines!. he would be all over the place running and sliding and jumping around!. louis black's language spoke of the tension and bitterness that his humor has become known for!.!.!.it even extends to his damn fingertips!. simply standing up on stage as condident as possible will read to an audience!. one of the sources below has a link to a deaf comedian!.!.!.!.that should be a great example for you!.!.!.!.all he has is his body!. hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Extremely important!. Unlike a regular theatrical performance or monologue the audience at a comedy show expect one thing and one thing only and that is to laugh!. The comedians body language immediately conveys whether he or she is comfortable and confident or flailing away on stage!. Once a comedian has command of the stage then his or her body can be used as another tool to convey the message of the jokes or characters!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
