Question: High School Students - Theater!?
I'm a freshman so I suppose it's a good time for me to ask this question!. If you are one of the main stars in a theater production in high school, preferably a comedy, how good for you is that on a college application, and how much does that put you up in the popularity meter!? My experience in school theater so far has been stage crew for Sleepy Hollow in 7th grade, but I've been thinking of auditioning for one of the winter comedies coming up!. If I do well, I would like to know how that would boost me from my current clique (around 3 good friends but known by everyone, but as a quiet person - trying to fix this because I'm really not shy and the stage does seem comfortable although I've never tried it with a play) anyway, from that social class, I'm not quite sure how big a leap it would be if I were to just jump into play!. I'll probably do the play anyway, but I want to be prepared!. please help!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you can show a steady involvement in theater, no matter what you do, that will look good for you!. Colleges want to produce well-rounded individuals, so involvement in extra-curricular activities is always a good thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The reason the previous answerers didn't address the social implications of your question is because none of us knows where you go to school!. None of us know the kids you are going to school with!. There are as many different answers to this question, as there are high schools in North America!.
Know this, however: The most popular people (anywhere, not just in high school) are the ones who are the most comfortable in their own skin!. The ones who are doing what they doing because it's what THEY want, not to impress anyone else!. People can spot a phony a mile away, and nobody likes a phony!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
