A convention is a set of agreed, stipulated or generally accepted standards, norms, social norms or criteria, often taking the form of a custom!.

i'm afraid your question is a bit vague!.!.!.i'm not sure in what context you're speaking in!. the variables could be something as simple as audience (you need an audience in order for there to be a drama so it's a "norm") to the differences in conventions between classical drama and modern drama so i'm not exactly sure what you're asking!. also!.!.!.!."pre-play" activities!? it doesn't really sound like you know what you're asking either!? did you simply copy the question without trying to figure out what the teacher was asking!? if i had to hazard an answer to that one, i would suggest something akin to a rehersal process (which involves it's own conventions - blocking, memorization, transition) dramaturgy element (the research garnered on the play and the history), the build (construction of set)!.!.!.!.!.i hope this helps even though i'm not sure what you're asking!. good luck!.
