Question: How can I create a fake "spirit" for a movie!?
I am working on props for a video assignment, and I need to find a way to create a fake spirit for a scene where a witch conjures up a spirit!. What should I use!? I was thinking about making one out of cellophane and hanging it with clear fishing line from a tree!. You wouldn't see the fishing line, so it would just be a shiny thing in mid air!. It sounds lame, but it was all I could think of!. Anyone have a better suggestion!? Oh, and I have a budget of $0, so if you could, offer advice that only uses household items!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not a bad idea, but I would suggest using something shadowy or dark!. Most of the "real life" ghost stories you hear are full of these transparent "shadow people", but you rarely see anything shiny, glimmering, or the like!. Use screening, like from a screen door, hung from the fishing line, and bring it up from the ground in stages!. This will not only give the appearance that the spirit has materialized from under the ground, but will also give you the shadowy but transparent figure!. You can also use wind and sound to give the appearance of a spirit without a physical presence!. Hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
