Question: If i pitch a screenplay to hollywood will they use it!?

I am writing a dirty, vulgar and crude comedy!. I figured that is what is selling these days so i thought it was the best way to go!. Ive talked to many many people!. Even people i dont know and everyone has said it would be a hilarious movie!. Should i go for the pitch!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sure, Hollywood always needs new material!. However, I suggest you get an agent first!. You really can't just walk into any studio and make a pitch!. Most places won't take submissions from screenwriters without representation!.

Takes ten years to learn how to move a script around Hollywood!. also, unless your friends are seasoned working writers who have sold screenplays before then take their opinion with a grain of salt!.

The vast majority of screenplays do not get made, instead they serve as calling cards for writers to get hired onto jobs rewriting other screenplays that have already been optioned and/or are sitting in development hell somewhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Pitch is quite often the hardest part of being a screenwriter!. We have a tendency to embellish the story, and get so excited about our material that we forget what we are there for and forget to make it as exciting for the pitchee (is that even a word!?) as it is for us!.
That being said, it's always possible to get a sceenplay accepted!. I'd suggest you maybe do some reading up on the subject and maybe try to get in contact with someone who can help you!. Script Magazine is a great magazine for writers, why don't you check it out!? http://www!.scriptmag!.com/
