I'm in a big medieval high-school play!. All the ladies have to have hats or headdresses, and I don't want to have a ridiculously tall veiled hat or a pointy cardboard cone hat!. The other option was to have a beaded cloche or beaded headdress that goes over the hair!. I found a lot of nice headdresses on websites but i really need instructions on how to make one!. If anyone could tell me how to make one that would be really great, or even just give a link to a website that has instructions on making one!. Thanks

The headdresses in the first link you showed are actually chain maille and beaded!. (I wore one in my wedding!.) Unless you have the equipment handy to make chain maille, those won't be feasible to make on your own!.

If you do beadwork, you could modify the pattern to add additional tiers!. If you are not already familiar with beadwork, making your own headdress will be a difficult task!. It's close to Halloween - look on eBay or at party or costume stores near you!. There are some inexpensive costume pieces that might work!. You didn't mention where you are located, but here is a sample of one of the costume pieces I've seen a time or two:

You might also look at any costume rental locations near you!. For just a headdress, the cost of renting a piece might be less than the supplies needed to make one!.

Why must you have a hat!. Braids were really popular, all kinds!. Check out the movie Ever After!. They had the hats, but they had even more ideas than that!. The pointy hats look cheesy!. Look at some of the pictures in this link!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
