If they are offering a live accompanist, then DEFINITELY take advantage of that by bringing in sheet music!. Directors like to see that you can sing along with the piano and not lose your spot!. In a preliminary audition, you can expect the director to ask for your name and possibly why you are auditioning, and then he or she will request that you sing your song!. Confidence is by far the most important thing to have when you enter an audition!. No matter how nervous you are, you have to look like you are 110% ready to nail the audition!. Directors don't enjoy people who come in shaking and then sing a song that they can barely hear!. To do this however, you have to be very prepared!. It is good that you are starting to look for audition tips now, because when the audition rolls around, you are going to be much more sure of yourself than your competitors are!. In the coming months, make sure you sing in front of people as much as you can and work on your acting skills!. The way I practice acting is just by doing facial expressions and small hand movements along with my iPod when a song from a musical comes on!. It's so dorky, I know, but it really gets you thinking about how you can improve!. Make sure when choosing a song that you not only can sing well, but that you can act well!. In the next few months, expand your knowledge of Musical Theater literature so you can find some songs that suit your voice best!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I definately suggest picking anything that will make you come off as sweet and loving!. Belle cares for most everyone and everything!. She also really loves books, so (IMO) something bookwormy would fit very well!.

As for what to expect, Im not sure how much experience youve had in theatre so I'll just take that to the extreme (so sorry if you've done productions forever)!. If they haven't asked you to prepare a monologue, expect to read from the script at the audition!. also, I'm pretty sure some dancing will be involved!.

I highly suggest learning a monologue just in case!. Anyway, as for a song, I'd pick something from another musical similar to Beauty and the Beast!. Actually, Part Of Your World from Little Mermaid would be fitting!.

My other suggestions would be maybe Somewhere Over the Rainbow from WoZ, or The Wizard And I from Wicked!.

And my last bit of advice is that if its not a male role specifically audition for Lefou because he is the funniest character I have ever seen on a Broadway play, plus the Maison Des Lunes (House of Moons, which my french teacher says is a crazy house) is a wicked sweet song!.

Hope that helps : ) And super good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
