someone once told me that it was because in shakespeares time, people would sit in three legged chairs, and when a performance was especially good, the people would move around or something, and one of the legs on the chair would break off!. so people wanted the legs of the chairs to break off, because that means they were doing well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
