Question: Help with Act V of Romeo and Juliet!?
In Act V of Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo says the following about Juliet's body in the tomb, what literary device is Shakespeare using!? "Why art thou yet so fair!? shall I believe/That unsubstantial death is amorous,/And that the lean abhorred monster keeps/Thee here in the dark to be his paramour!?" In 2 to 3 sentences, explain the meaning of these lines!.

The literary device Shakespeare has used in this Scene is Retorical Questioning!. What Romeo means in these lines is!.!. simply;

Ah, dear Juliet, why are you still so beautiful!? Should I believe that death is in love with you, and that the awful monster keeps you here to be his mistress!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Why art thou yet so fair"- it means like when Romeo finds Juliet in her family tomb and wonders how she can be dead and still look so beautiful!.

"That unsubstantial death is amorous"- unsubstantial death is figured as Juliet's paramour, and the leitmotiv of death as her bridegroom is sustained by this image
