Yes she was famous for her look, but there was so much more she was a charming actress on screen with impeccable comic timing, she was wonderful (yes I am like the women in Tommy at the Church of Marilyn many actresses feel the same)

She created the archetype of the dumb blonde, she tried to be like Jean Harlow but she really did surpass her she is the one who everyone tries to imitate but no one can replicate she made great films, see Some Like it Hot (with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) the Misfits is fantastic too!.

She may be overweight by today's standards fluctuating between a size two and a size 14 but she is infinitely sexier than any of the female actresses we see today (Angelina Jolie comes close)!. She was Hugh Hefner's ideal woman!.

By acting standards she was okay, no Glenda Jackson or Judi Dench, but she created a brand for herself and that made her an icon!. Much of the mystique surrounding her, is similar to that surrounding a lot of celebrities who die too soon, like James Dean, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, all of them were stars and they were are wonderful and we can't help but wonder what type of work they would have turned out it later years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
