Jonathan is right, portfolios are only for modeling!.

What you need is an 8" x 10" headshot!. Only bring one!. You'll also need a resume!. Put whatever acting experience you've had on there, even if it was just in a school play!. If you are young, agents don't expect you to have experience and often prefer that you don't have too much because then they have to untrain you of bad habits!.

Just remember this----
You do not pay your agent or manager a fee to take you on as a client!!! They make a percentage (10%-15%) of the jobs that they book you on!. There are A LOT OF SCAMMER FAKE AGENTS OUT THERE!. I saw a lot of actors in Hollywood lose a lot of money to scammer Agents!. Get a list from the Screen Actors Guild of registered Agents and Managers that they have approved of!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Portfolios are used in modeling and are usually the tear sheets that the photographer gives you !. also includes pages from magazines you may have booked!.
Acting Portfolio, I have pictures and still shots from productions I use and head shots as I get them about every 2 years!.

Portfolios are used to show your range, what you look like with longer hair or maybe short to no hair!. Actors use demo reels to show their work!.

For acting you just need a great head shot as this is your first audition and a professional looking resume on the back!. Highlighting some of your better credits and training
