Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
A nice binder/folder for his headshot & resume is fine!. Definitely an agenda book, so he can keep track of his audition appointments and contacts!. Extra Pens, small pocket mirror, and comb will be helpful!.

If you want, you can get him some books that will help him understanding and navigate through the business of Acting:

"Acting as a Business" - Brian O'Neil
"Acting is Everything" - Judy Kerr
"Self-Management for Actors" - Bonnie Gillespie
"An Agent Tells All" - Tony MartinezWww@QuestionHome@Com

What a nice girlfriend you are!. Where were you when I was starting out!? Besides headshots, your boyfriend will need a well-worded, professional-looking resume!. Many actors have them printed on the backs of their headshots, but not all!. This can be done on your computer's copier, it needn't be done by a printer (or even Kinko's)!. Other than that, everything he needs is between his ears, right behind his eyes!. I'm sure any portfolio you get him will be just fine!. Agents and casting directors don't even notice such things, they're too busy sizing up the actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
