Question: How can i get rid of my stage fright!?
i have a school performance in december and im playing the drum set!. last performance i felt like i was ready to puke during the performance!. i never had it until last year!. how can i get rid of it i dont wanna mess up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stage fright is a myth!. It is as real as a politician's campaign promises!.

You are imagining the worst that could happen (you freeze, you mess up, etc!.) and psyching yourself up into a tizzy!. Cut it out!.

If you practice enough so that you can do it in your sleep, you needn't bother with stage fright!. You know what you are doing, and you won't mess up!. Fageddabouddit already!.

Your audience WANTS to like you!. They are pulling for you!. If they were not, they would be home watching TV!. All you have to do is give them an excuse to like you!.

Stage Fright stops many a performer from success!. There are many suggestions running from picturing your audience in their underwear to eating a certain fruit!.
I have found a method that worked wonders for me and I have taught others to use it with great success!.
Focus on the performance!. If it is music:
You concentrate on each pattern and where the music is going!. If your mind is on giving the best performance and if you are into the piece, you will not be thinking about the audience!. Not only does it eliminate your stage fright, you become a better performer!.

I have really bad stage fright, and this is what I do to help myself!.

There's nothing wrong with being nervous!. I think the worst thing you can do is try to tell yourself "don't be nervous" over and over again!. It only makes things worse!.

Instead, take some deep breaths, and (to yourself) say, "you know what!? I am nervous, and I'm going to use that energy to go out and play the drums as well as I can" and then do some stretches, take some more deep breaths, and get out there and do it! Www@QuestionHome@Com

Relax!.
Before you perform stretch out a bit, do some exercises!.
I also really like to do some relaxation exercises!. Pretend you're on a beach and describe is to yourself completely in your head!.
Anything that calms me down helps!.
also, embrace the fact that you're a bit stage fright!. It happens to almost everyone!.
Just acknowledge the fact that you're a bit scared and it'll go away once you're on stage!.

People say, picture the audience in their underwear!. Don't eat anything before the performance!. I knew people with good luck charms and all kinds of stupid things!. The best way to get rid of stage fright (you're not gonna like this): Practice!. Practice until your arms feel like they're going fall off and then practice some more!. Don't just practice your part, either!. Practice improv and other parts to other songs!. Play along with songs that you love!. The point is that you become so familiar with your instrument (especially the part you're going to perform) that you have complete confidence!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
