Question: What is the climax of the play, A Little Night Music!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It's probably a matter of opinion, and depends somewhat on the definition of "climax!."

Personally, I feel it's the duel between Carl and Fredrik (actually, a game of Russian roulette) near the end of Act 2, in which Fredrik is slightly injured!. This causes Carl to go back to his wife, Charlotte, and Fredrik turns to Desiree for comfort!. It is here that he learns that Fredrika is actually his daughter!. (So learning that Fredrika is his daughter could be considered the "climax," too!.)

This is one of my favorite Sondheim shows!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
