Question: Missing school for auditions!?
everyone keeps telling me that if i want to do acting and go to auditions i have to be homeschooled
but i'm in High School now and the last thing i want to do is be homeschooled
and i know for a fact that a bunch of famous and successful actor/actresses never were homeschooled but did acting at my age (14), so how would i do auditions and acting without being homeschooled!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your best bet is to accelerate your completion of high school which will free you up to pursue an acting career!. You will still need your parents complete support however and by finishing HS early you will give yourself a few years to give the business a try before attending college!.

There is no reason for you to be homeschooled - that's just silly!. The only reason you'd need to be homeschooled is if you were doing film and were shooting and going to a badillion auditions, but since you're fourteen and there are approximately three fourteen-year-olds needed at any given point in time, it would be in your best interest to work on your technique and get stage experience!. Your school's drama department is a great way to get started - get in an acting class, get involved in all the school plays, choose performance-based presentations for classes when you can!. Then, keep an eye on your local theatres and go when they're having open auditions!. If you have time and money, you might even consider looking at a private institution for acting and voice lessons!. Going to acting competitions, and hopefully winning them, will increase your chances of being known/getting into a good post-secondary theatre school!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i hate to say it, but being home schooled would certainly help because you would have to miss so much school going from audition to audition!. im not saying that its not possible to stay in a public school, but you would miss so much school if you were really serious about pursuing actingWww@QuestionHome@Com

just skip now and then when you absolutely have to
it's bullshit that you HAVE to be homeschooled in order to audition :)
