Question: Shy girl needs help: should I attend this casting call!?
Hi I asked this question earlier on but am still undecided!.

Anyhow I've been taking acting classes for around 6 months but haven't worked as an extra before!. When I read about an oppurtunity to attend an open casting call I was excited!. Even though its this Saturday!. It would be a great experience to see how film production actually occurs!. Being payed is just a bonus!.

Here is the link to the article about the casting call!.http://www!.stuff!.co!.nz/4718254a1860!.html

''The producers are seeking men and women aged 18 and over who are, "or could pass" as, Middle Eastern, Moroccan, North African and Mediterranean and ideally have dark hair and skin, or a tan!.''

I figured I could attend this casting as I have dark hair and olive skin!. http://tinypic!.com/view!.php!?pic=id7zaf&s!.!.!. Do you think I fit the requirement!? Most posters last time I asked the question didn't think I did!? So im not exactly sure if I should give it a go or if I will look foolish turning up at the casting call!.

also in my city there are hardly any middle eastern or southern europeans and the film is calling for hundreds of extras, so perhaps I have a chance!?

also the casting call just lists physical requirements e!.g hair color and informs of the location, date and time of the casting call but does not ask for headshots, resumes!.!. I have neither!.!.

What should one wear to a casting call!? I was thinking perhaps a knee length pencil skirt, smart blouse and cardigan!?

Your help is much appreciated!. Im a really shy girl (not when acting) and have butterflys in my stumouch just thinking about attending my first casting call!. Im not sure I even look the part!. But I don't want to miss out on this oppurtunity!.What do you think should I give it a go!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't be shy (outside of acting) if you want to be a successful Actress, right!? :)

See this as your baby steps in overcome your shyness!. Every experience will help you shape your acting career!.

This is a casting call for background extras - most likely, they will not look at you and analyze how you look in detail!. As long as you can blend in and match the "dark hair, tanned skin" crowd, you'll be fine!.

You should wear something that's comfortable, and avoid bright or busy patterns!. Pick a shirt that's solid color (avoid black shirts) and a nice casual jeans (or skirt) is fine!. Cardigan is fine, if the weather is cold!. I'm not sure about the Pencil Skirt!.!.!. because, if you think about the period of the film, it's about the birth of Jesus Christ!.!.!. You don't want to look too formal, or too 'business' like!.

Most likely, they will be taking snaps shots and ask the talents to fill out application at the location!. But just in case, you should bring at two copies of your headshot & resume!. And since you don't have a headshot nor a resume!. Bring two pictures of yourself (any pictures of YOU, just you)!. When you get to the location, if no one is taking snap shots or handing out paper works, then you can write your name, physical status (height, weight, dresss-shoe-jacket size), and contact information on the back of the pictures!.

Make sure you are prepared for a long wait!. There will be a lot of people!. Bring a friend with you, if you need company!. :)

Remember, you got NOTHING to loose!. There are tons of auditions and casting calls out there - if you didn't get one, there's always another one that you can attend!.

Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you do!. You should try out and see what happens!. Good LuckWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, go for it! What an awesome experience! Even if you're not right for the part, you'll get to see what it's like, which might help you out next time!. Don't worry too much about clothes, they're not looking at that!. They'll be looking for your potential, not exactly what you are!. I think the only thing I've heard is don't wear makeup!.!.!.

Anyway, good luck to you, I think you'll be fine!. You'll always wonder what would have happened if you don't find out now!. Never know, could be your big break!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely, even if you don't get the part, attending the casting call will still be a good experience for you!. Wear neat, casual clothes and just be yourself!. If they want you, they'll call you back!. Don't worry too much if they don't call you back - don't forget that acting has a 98% unemployment rate!. Even getting the small parts can be tough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
